Kindred works with and for Asylum Seekers held in detention centres and living in the community.
We endeavour to:
- Provide hospitality and practical support to people seeking asylum
- Actively network with like-minded individuals and groups who are working towards justice for Asylum Seekers
- Promote advocacy for the rights of people seeking asylum
- Engage our local community though events, activities and material aid drives

Steering Group Meetings : Kindred has an inner Steering Group made up of 8 people who direct the group and hold Kindred to it's mission statement. This group meets 8 times each year, with additional meetings as needed in the lead up to events or actions. The Steering Group communicates continuously outside of these meetings through a private social media group.Read more
Organise an awareness-raising event
Awareness-raising events can be held within your school, community group or workplace.
Previous events organised by Kindred members include developing and implementing curriculum for a local primary school during Refugee Week, and organising a candlelight vigil to coincide with a national day of action.Read more
