We endeavour to:
Would you like to join Kindred in providing a warm welcome for Asylum Seekers?
Kindred has an inner Steering Group made up of 8 people who direct the group and hold Kindred to it's mission statement. This group meets 8 times each year, with additional meetings as needed in the lead up to events or actions. The Steering Group communicates continuously outside of these meetings through a private social media group.
Kindred has an active Facebook presence.
The best way to get started is to visit MITA or a family in community with another Kindred member who can show you the ropes and support you through the process.
Kindred hold quarterly non-perishable food/material aid drives in local schools, community centres, libraries and kindergartens.
Organise social outings for Asylum Seekers
Kindred organise fundraising events and projects to fund the following areas:
Previous events organised by Kindred members include developing and implementing curriculum for a local primary school during Refugee Week, and organising a candlelight vigil to coincide with a national day of action.
